Osteopathy is a specialised physical therapy focussed at treating problems arising from issues with the body's
structure. Each person is treated as an individual and receives a personally tailored treatment.
Initially the osteopath will
take a detailed case history asking specific questions that will help him or her to diagnose the problem. Following this the osteopath
will examine the patient's body and assess active and passive movement to help clarify what may be the problem. During
this the patient may be required to undress to their underwear so that movement is clear and so that it is easier to address
the problematic area.
During treatment, various types of technique may be used including joint mobilisation, focussed soft
tissue massage and stretching, fascial release, cranial technques, visceral techniques and occassionally Western Medical Acupuncture.
A mixture of these will be used throughout the session to alleviate symptoms and to combat the cause of the issue.
30 mins - £45 (continuation treatment)
